Gynecomastia Reduction is one of the most frequently performed plastic surgeries for men. Gynecomastia, or male breast enlargement occurs in response to normal fluctuations in hormones. All male babies are born temporary Gynecomastia, due to their mother’s hormones. It usually resolves by six months, and rarely persists at this age. The next time Gynecomastia shows up is in the teens. Adolescent Gynecomastia occurs in upward of a third of young men, and can be a source of emotional embarrassment and occasionally physical pain. While many cases of teenaged Gynecomastia resolve with time, one to two years, about one-third persist. Gynecomastia peaks again between the ages of 50 to 80 with one in five men affected.
